“Just called the NCAA to get clarification on the new contact rules for Division II schools, which will take affect in a few weeks. Starting June 15, 2012, NCAA Division II schools will be able to call, email and send recruiting material to 2014 graduates (rising juniors), which is 1 year earlier than before. Previously, I knew phone calls could start, but wasn’t sure on emails and recruiting material. When I asked the question, the representative for the NCAA said, “Good question” and put me on hold for a few minutes to look it up. Being informed on new NCAA rules can help athletes be more successful in the recruiting process.
