Parents:
Feel free to direct any questions regarding the recruiting process or the services we provide to Alan Parham.  He will gladly send a scout to your child’s event to evaluate his/her athletic talent, as long as they meet certain athletic and academic criteria.

Coaches:
We seek your guidance and honest evaluations regarding the talent level of the athletes that you coach – who knows about their ability more than you?  If you have any athletes that you feel can compete at the next level, please print a copy of our Coach Evaluation Form, fill it out and fax it along with a game/practice schedule to: Alan Parham, Director of Scouting: (800) 953-9006, or e-mail to: nsrcarolinas@nsr-inc.com

Alan Parham is the Executive Director of Scouting and licensee for Central and Western North Carolina NSR. A four-year veteran scout, Alan started his NSR career as an area scout in Western North Carolina.

Alan is directing the company toward becoming the premier high school scouting organization in the Carolinas . Under his leadership, the company has instituted innovative, service-oriented programs that have propelled Central and Western North Carolina NSR into a status as one of the best operated NSR organizations in the nation.

  • Skills ‘N Drills Camps attract some of the region's very best high school student-athletes.
  • “What's Goin' On,” the company's monthly newsletter, provides timely and pertinent information for clients on recruiting and the recruiting process.
  • Summer and Fall Softball Combines & Showcase Tournaments, in conjunction with NSA of North Carolina, provide regional prospects a unique atmosphere to exhibit their skills and college coaches the opportunity to evaluate talent in an intimate environment.
  • Three-tier Service Program offers clients a clear path to problem solving, answering questions and fulfilling service needs.
  • Free Educational Seminars on the recruiting process are available to any group, organization or school for the asking as part of our community outreach program.

"Our team approach to this business makes us the number one scouting service in the Carolinas. We reach more college coaches nationally and regionally more often than any of our competitors. They're isolated and work solo. We work in concert, not only with the scouts in North and South Carolina, but in partnership with licensees in Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia. Perhaps most significant is the fact that we help to place more North and South Carolina kids in colleges each year than all the other scouting services in the two states combined,” said Parham.

"Our dedication to, and reputation for, giving our kids outstanding service provides us with the foundation required to make us a reliable and permanent source of prospects for college coaches," said Parham. Continuing, he said, "We are involved in recruiting every day. We know how the process works and we stay up-to-date on the rules. When prospects and parents work with us they see more opportunities open to them and get more offers than they thought possible.”

"We do not come into town and enroll just anyone who wants to try for a scholarship. Our kids are scouted, pre-qualified and interviewed in person. Our prospects must meet a list of criteria that includes having the ability to play in college, the desire to play in college, good to excellent grades, a positive attitude, the recommendation of a coach and the support of their family. We even pre-qualify parents. If they are unable to conduct themselves properly before, during or after games, we will not enroll their child. Why? We will not pass this problem on to college coaches. Our reputation depends on it. Not meeting these qualifications eliminates a kid from serious consideration, regardless of how good an athlete the kid may be."

If you are a serious prospect not receiving the attention you deserve, we can help. If you are being overlooked, we can help. If you want national as well as regional exposure, we can help. If you want someone to help guide you through the process, we can help. And, if you need a credible source to distribute your profile and videotape to college coaches, we can help.

Think of your scholarship chances this way:

  • Receiving an offer to play sports in college has never been more competitive. Only about one in twenty-five seniors go on to play in college.
  • College coaches only recruit prospects they know about. They seldom, if ever, recruit from what they read in local newspapers. They hardly ever go to high school games. They typically only evaluate prospects they already know about at club or travel tournaments, seldom discovering talent.
  • Most initial recruiting happens in the coach's office when a coach evaluates talent on paper and videotape (from a reliable source).
  • Coaches have limited opportunities to see prospects play in person.
  • Few high school coaches have the time, funds or expertise to promote all their prospects to a wide array of colleges. They have too much on their plates with school, practice, games and responsibilities at home. If they promote one, they have to promote everyone.
  • What was true when your parents and their friends were in high school is no longer relevant. While they mean well, most parents are unaware of how recruiting works today. And, even if they have a clue, college coaches are unlikely to take very seriously information that arrives on their desks from Mom and Dad.
  • You get one chance in your life to get recruited.
