About Area Director, Mark Galyean
A resident of Indianapolis, I have been very involved with travel baseball as both a parent and coach. Combining over 30 years of business experience and my love for the game I have found my true passion! I am proud to say that I have become an area director in Indiana and Michigan for NSR...the leader in helping student athletes through the college recruiting process.
Baseball has been very good to my family. From my oldest son Zach playing in college, my youngest son Tyler being a NSR athlete and now playing in college to the close friendships I have developed over many years. I am thrilled to be part of such a great organization and the opportunity to help your son navigate the recruiting process and find his perfect college fit!
Over the years I have seen that there were athletes good enough to play baseball in college but did not get the opportunity because their parents did not understand the process or have someone that they trusted to navigate the recruiting process and find their perfect college fit!
I look forward to working with you and your son to reach his dream of playing in college and making the recruiting journey a positive and exciting time in their career!

In addition to having played professionally, I am a 20-year member of the PGA of America, and coached men’s and women’s college golf at the NCAA Division II and Division III levels. My teams competed in three consecutive NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championships – finishing as high as 14th. I was named the 2019, 2020, and 2022 HCAC women’s golf Coach of the Year. Additionally, I played college basketball at the NJCAA and NCAA Division III levels, I coached women’s college basketball at the NCAA Division III level – where my teams won three HCAC championships and competed in two NCAA Tournaments. Working as a scout for NSR Recruiting allows me to do the single thing that I enjoyed the most over my 13 years in college coaching – helping young men and women and their families negotiate the often-bewildering world of college sports recruiting. Helping a student-athlete find the right college experience and watching them receive their diploma four years later is among the most satisfying and rewarding things I’ve ever done in my life – and I’m very grateful to NSR for allowing me to continue doing just that!Prior to joining the college coaching ranks, I spent 15 years as a PGA club professional – working at golf/country clubs all over the United States. As of 2023, I have lived in eight different states. I still enjoy competitive golf and have played in the state open championship of 13 different states. I currently reside in the Indianapolis area with my wife and our two dogs

In a basketball state, I grew up playing hockey and baseball. I was fortunate to have played hockey with some incredibly talented individuals in the US and Canada but always knew I was better suited to coaching. I began coaching while still in high school at camps, then coached all-star and travel teams and finally coached the varsity high school team at my alma mater. When my kids chose sports other than hockey, I left their instruction to the experts. Unable to merely be a spectator though, I dedicated my coaching time to volunteering and mentoring, and now lead their program's foundation and charity efforts. When I was offered the opportunity to join the NSR family to become a scout and advocate for student-athletes and their families, it was a very easy decision. I look forward to assisting you in the recruiting process and fulfilling your dream of playing at the collegiate level.
