Get Scouted Scouting Careers2019 D2 prospects expecting to sign NCAA scholarships are poised for June 15.
That is when Division II coaches in all sports can call and text prospects. It is unquestionably a date every prospect anticipates as a lift-off point in their recruiting. That is every well-informed prospect. Sadly, there remain loads of rising juniors oblivious to the importance of June 15. As a result, most will miss out on an enormous chance to get in line ahead of their competing, fellow prospects.
For 2019 D2 prospects a head start counts
For diligent, informed 2019 D2 prospects, June 15 marks the beginning of the real recruiting process. Their advisors, recruiting experts, have guided them well. See, having a reliable, knowledgeable, and savvy, recruiting expert pays big dividends. These prospects’ names are known to D2 coaches. Their company’s promotional apparatus has sent letters and emails, both invaluable heads-up tools for college coaches. Additionally, prospects’ Websites are available 24/7 for coaches to view. There, coaching staffs watch video, check grades, and pour over stats. And they can do this anywhere, anytime. With limited recruiting budgets, this access is irreplaceable.
Most importantly, this availability of accurate info gives prospects a clear head start over other 2019 D2 prospects. It is an advantage of resources and time. Catching up is a hard, uphill climb. It’s a task few accomplish in today’s recruiting environment.
June 15th opens doors
Prior to June 15, NCAA Division II coaches and their prized prospects are handcuffed. Limits exist in how and when they can communicate. The NCAA makes certain of that. For the most part, unless a prospect is on a coach’s campus, they cannot communicate. No texts, emails or phone calls. At events, they may recognize one another with a passing “hello,” but nothing else.
The NCAA makes it very difficult, to say the least.
But when this June 15 arrives, it’s on for both Division II coaches and 2019 D2 prospects. The doors open. Unlimited communications start. There are exceptions, of course, but for the most part, both parties, including parents, can get in the mix. It is pretty much a free-for-all at that point.
The collective sigh of relief can be heard across the Division II recruiting landscape.
