NSR 2012 softball prospect, Emily Davis, from Newton County High School in Decatur, MS, has been named 2011 Miss Softball Mississippi by The Clarion Ledger (Jackson, MS).  She also was named to the MHSAA first team All-State.  Emily led her team to a state championship while hitting .504 with eight home runs and an 18-0 pitching record.  The junior carries a very impressive 4.0 GPA.  She plans to major in Photo Journalism in college.  In Emily’s personal essay to college coaches, she says, “For as long as I can remember, I’ve had the hope and dream of playing college softball. It is my belief that if you have a “passion” for something, you will work hard for it. I do. I work on and off the field for softball. I give my all every time I hit the field. I am very respectful to the game, my coaches, and to my teammates.”   Her NSR scout is Paul Hux, Area Director for Central Mississippi.
