Get Scouted Scouting CareersNSR is very pleased to announce that Morgan Parmer, a 2012 softball prospect from Handley High School in Roanoke, Alabama is our Female Athlete of the Day. Morgan has committed to play for Alabama Southern College in Thomasville. The 5’11” pitcher carries a 3.2 GPA and plans to study Physical Therapy. As a junior, she led her team to the Area 5 3-A title, regional championship and an appearance in the state tournament. Her NSR scouts, Robert and Susan Cagle, write about her talents in their scouting report: “At nearly 6ft tall and with her physical presence, she can be intimidating. She pitches with that type of mentality. Her fastball is consistently clocked at 60 -61 mph with it reaching 63 at times. Her change up looses about 10 mph or so and becomes a nasty, effective pitch for her. She can use her curveball, screwball and riseball as weapons in her aresenal as well. She does a good job of placing the ball on the corner and moving the ball up and down in the strike zone.” To college coaches, Morgan says, “I only play this one sport because it’s what I love to do, and I am very dedicated. I want to play softball as long as I can, because I love the game, and I want to be as good as I am capable of being. I love being a part of a team. To me, a team is more than friends.”
