Former NSR softball prospect and Catawba College junior standout catcher, Tara Gibbs from Tuscola High School in Waynesville, North Carolina, was selected as the South Atlantic Conference co-Player of the Week. Tara led the Catawba offense with a .727 batting average including four runs batted in and a home run. The junior’s highlight came against Bloomsburg University as she hit a game-tying home run in the ninth inning to extend the game. Catawba eventually won 5-4 in 11 innings. Tara currently leads the Lady Indians with a .382 batting average and 10 home runs. Her NSR scout is Alan Parham, NSR’s former AD for Western North Carolina and the current Director of Communications for the company.
