Landry Jones

University of Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones, and former NSR prospect, is among 30 NCAA FBS student-athletes who were selected as candidates for the 2012 Senior CLASS Award® in collegiate football. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I FBS senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.
The Artesia, N.M., native owns a 31-8 (.795) record as a starter at OU, and was one win away from tying QB Steve Davis (32 wins from 1973-75) for the most victories in school history when the 2012 season started. The Sooners are 2-0 so far with impressive wins over UTEP and Florida A&M.  This week Landry will lead his team into a Big 12 match-up with a very tough Kansas State squad.  Jones is already OU’s all-time career leader in passing yards (12,853), passing yards per game (313.5), pass attempts (1,692), pass completions (1,061), 300-yard games (21), 400-yard games (9), TD passes (97), total offense (12,559) and total offense per game (306.3). Landry elected to resume his Sooner career this year after having the opportunity to go into the NFL draft following his junior season.
