The Steenburgen family’s NSR scout is Craig Stanger (Oregon). She is responding to a recent NSR blog about the necessity of prospects getting involved in the recruiting process ASAP. “Very true! Glad I was that “crazy” mom who started Syd looking at colleges on her 8th grade trip. My advice to parents & athletes… Visit & attend the colleges sports I.D. camps at the schools your player is interested in. Players need to not only have a great service like NSR getting info out to the schools but get every opportunity for coaches to see them play. Once camp or tournaments are over, send out emails, make phone calls & have your scout follow up with the coaches too. Your NSR scout is an extremely valuable asset in the process. Most of all enjoy the process & be positive! This is a great life lesson for your child. Work hard, get seen & get recruited!”
