James Haigh

Meet our Male Athlete of the Day, James Haigh, a 6’2″ 180-pound quarterback from Providence High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.  With a respectable 3.75 GPA in hand, he plans to major in Business and Computer Science.  Mike Ostler is his NSR scout and in his scouting report on James, Mike says, “James Haigh is going to the great heights as a football QB.  James has the kind of leadership, determination and focus that you’re going to love.  Already skilled as a passer, James is blessed with quickness, arm strength, accuracy and athleticism that will make him one to keep a close eye on for his senior year in 2013.  James is determined to be the best he can be in all areas of his life.  He understands the importance of giving 100% in everything he does whether in the classroom, weight room, on the field or giving of himself to help others, James is a winner!  He’s often the 1st to practice and the last to leave.  Leading by example is what will make James a sure bet.”  His personal essay to college coaches reveals a lot about this quality young man when he states, “College football has been my goal, since I was a young boy, and I am very excited at the opportunity to live out that dream. On the field I am a leader and well respected by my teammates. I am very competitive and committed to winning. I am one of the first to get to practice and one of the last to leave. As quarterback, I find personal satisfaction in putting others first. I have a strong arm and a great understanding of our pistol offense. My relationship with my coaches is good on and off the field.  In the classroom, I’m a solid student with both honors and AP classes and a 3.8 GPA. I am a leader in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and very involved in my youth group. As a volunteer, each weekend you can find me either coaching or refereeing youth sports. I also teach kindergarten Sunday school at church and am well on my way to earning a presidential service award that requires over a hundred service hours.”
