Get Scouted Scouting CareersMeet Kelsey Roxworthy, our Female Athlete of the Day. Kelsey is 4.6 student and plans to major in Physical Therapy. She plays midfielder for St. Charles High School in St. Charles, Illinois, as well as for the Shockers FV Elite soccer club. Her NSR scout, Andrew Novelli, had this to say about Kelsey in his scouting report: “A left-footed center defender that is a physical presence on the field. Possesses a strong build and is aggressive to the ball. Also capable of playing center mid. Goes hard and wins the ball in the air. Exhibits ‘plus’ leg strength and is a technical passer. Very loud on the field and is always communicating. Has good feel and anticipation with great knowledge of the game. Competes at the travel level for Strikers FV Elite, one of the top programs in the state. A solid student earning a 4.6/5.0 GPA. Interested in pursuing a career in Physical Therapy or Special Education. Has a strong sense of community and is actively involved with her Church Youth Group – traveled to Ecuador for a mission trip. Dedicated and compassionate for others, Kelsey will be a valuable asset to any collegiate soccer program.” She writes in her essay, “I am a physically strong player with a very physical build and a strong left foot. I am an aggressive player and will not shy away from a challenge. I do very well at winning and controlling balls in the air. My experience as goalie has helped me to see how important positioning and spacing is on the field. This has helped me know how to place the ballwhere my teammates are on the field and knowing how to assist the goalie. I am a hardworking, dedicated soccer player with a desire and commitment to continually improve my skills and performance on and off the soccer field. I recognize my teammates’ and my performance are dependent on each other. This starts with how we work together and treat each other at practice; during games and away from soccer. I believe I will contribute to any college or university soccer team with my positive attitude, skills, knowledge and ability to be a team player.”
