Glenn Stowe lives life to the fullest on and off the football field.

Glenn Stowe gets it.

The 2016 National Scouting Report football prospect is not only a special athletic talent, but he understands the best way to go through life is by giving it your all, appreciating what you have and those around you, and giving back whenever the opportunity arises.

Stowe was born into a home where an inconceivable tragedy had struck only a few years before.  His two older brothers were killed as children.  That kind of event can forever cast a devastating shadow over an entire family’s perspective, or it can shed light on the unlimited value and beauty of life.  Stowe’s family chose the latter, and he embodies that philosophy.

Today, Stowe experiences brotherhood in a different way.  “My two older brothers were killed three years before I was born, so I’ve had to grow up without them,” he said. “Being able to go to Washington (Okla.) High School has been a true blessing for me because I’ve developed a sense of true friendship and loyalty to men I now call my brothers.  The friendship and loyalty we share is evident both on and off the football field. Together, we were undefeated every single year of little league and have made it to the state playoffs every year of high school.”

Stowe has two younger siblings and takes his role as big brother very seriously.  “I love my family,” said Stowe a native of Purcell, Okla. “I now have a younger sister, Emjay, who is 9, and a baby brother, Porter, who is 2.  I want to be the best big brother I can possibly be and show them what it’s like to be a hard worker and to support their dreams and goals in life.”

At 6 feet 2 and 200 pounds, Stowe has the size to play college football.  He also has the speed (4.51 in the 40).  Last summer, he was stellar at both the Oklahoma Sooner and Wyoming Cowboy football camps, receiving accolades from camp coaches.

His versatility is a big plus, too.  Named the 2015 District Defensive Player of the Year at cornerback, Stowe also has played H-back, wide receiver, punter and even filled in at quarterback.  That diversity is a big draw for coaches.  They see him as being able to fill any number of recruiting needs.

His senior season stats were very impressive.  Stowe was thrown at only 31 times in 12 games.  He surrendered only eight receptions for 155 yards. He also snagged three interceptions, returning one for a TD.  He punted for a very respectable 37.5 average.

Stowe’s versatility makes him a prime college prospect.

Stowe also stays busy as a starter on Washington’s basketball team in the winter and discus thrower in the spring.  With only three weeks of discus practice, Stowe incredibly took third place last year in the Oklahoma High School State Track Meet.

But football is his first love.

“Glenn Stowe is a blue-collar football player with a shutdown corner mentality,” said NSR scout Dale Young, who discovered him. “He understands hard work and is not afraid to push himself. His excellent size, speed and intensity make him a dominant defensive player. Glenn has a nose for the football, gives solid run support, and is an aggressive, sure tackler. He has great hips. He can get out of his back pedal and break to the ball very well. He also displays good upper body strength and plays stout press coverage. Glenn is on the field as a WR/H-back on offense, corner back on defense and all special teams demonstrating his willingness to do anything asked of him by his coaches.”

Stowe tackles his academic responsibilities with equal intensity.  A 3.5 student, he expects to pursue a Business major in college.

As of now, he is being recruited by a number of NCAA Division II and NAIA colleges across the Midwest.  He has several official visits lined up this month.

“No matter what happens, all things happen for a reason,” he said. “When you realize that, the possibilities are endless. Attitude is everything.”
