NSR hoops prospect inks with Paladins in Southern Conference

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Furman Paladins’ women’s head basketball coach Jackie Carson today announced the signing of 5-9 guard Allison Beasley of Arden, N.C.  Beasley has keyed Carolina (NCISAA 2-A) Day School to a 114-7 record and two state championships, connecting on 198 3-pointers and scoring 1,550 points in her career, which includes two all-state and three all-conference and All-Western North Carolina citations.  As a sophomore she helped pace her squad to a 34-1 record and state crown, and last year sparked CDS to a 30-2 mark and second state banner, averaging 15.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 43 percent from 3-point range and 94 percent from the free throw line.  Beasley has also experienced tremendous success in the AAU ranks with the WNC Lady Royals coached by Joe Carrington, starring on state championship teams in both 2008 & ’10 and national seventh place finishes in both 2011 and ’12.  She was also a member of the 2011 United States Junior Nationals Silver Division national championship squad.  She is an ESPN HoopGurlz three-star recruit with a grade of 84 and was invited to play in the Blue Star All-American Showcase in Chicago, Ill., and “Super 64” Showcase in Atlanta, Ga.  Furman coach Jackie Carson on Allison Beasley:  “Allison is a tremendous shooter and plays both ends of the floor with a lot of passion and energy. Coming from a successful high school program like Carolina Day School will prepare her to contribute immediately because she knows what it takes to win championships. We were fortunate to beat out a number of top programs from BCS conferences to get her to Furman.”
