Fair Warning Given —  Time’s Not On Your Side

Don't wait for that coach's call until you miss out altogether on scholarship consideration.

Sophomores and juniors, your time is running short.  Sounds crazy, right?  Not so.  For sophomores, coaches will be identifying the prospects which will go on their recruiting lists this summer and upcoming fall.  The ones who get on those lists will have a decided advantage over anyone  who hits their radar after that happens.  For juniors, this summer coaches will be narrowing their lists down to those who will be invited in the fall to make official visits to their campuses.  Those invitations will go out in the next 3 to five months.  Now, is time running short?  Yes, it is.

If you are not careful in the way you handle the next few, critical months, your chance to get the scholarship you really want could pass you by without you and your parents even knowing it.  Poof!  Gone.

In Star Wars, The Phantom Menace, Luke Skywalker, when told by Jedi master, Yoda, of the dangers in facing the Dark Side, famously said, “I’m not afraid.”  Do you remember Yoda’s response?  It was simply, “You will be.”  That’s a fitting parallel for prospects and parents who believe that everything will take care of itself, or their coach will handle it, or playing travel or club sports will open doors, or they can do it themselves.  The months will soon zoom past, like a jacked-up Millennium Falcon, summer will have ended and fall will be here as if it were tomorrow.  And when nothing has changed, then what?

How will not being recruited to play college sports affect you? Imagine that.

You will have wasted time and some good, solid opportunities.  So, am I asking you to run to our doorstep and sign on?  Well, that would be your very best choice, yes.   But short of that, look at every promotional option available to you.  And do something.  Yes, I will tell you that after nine years of working for NSR with prospects, parents and college coaches that we are undeniably the quickest, most effective way to get comprehensive exposure, but there are others.

We are different because we are an on-the-ground scouting company which has been promoting qualified high school prospects to colleges for 31 years.  Others you might find are not on the ground.  They are what we call “cubicle counselors.”  They sit in a home office, or wherever, and make calls to every kid listed in a tournament roster book.  They haven’t seen you play and they haven’t met you in person.  It’s called telemarking.  You know, like all those other companies that call your house every night around dinner time asking for donations?  Notice any similarities?  If you are diligent in your research, you will find that out, too.   We are the real deal.  Real scouts.  Real people.  Real results.

Most NSR prospects, like Natalie Stevens, literally hear from dozens upon dozens of college coaches. Are you?

Only about one in ten high school senior athletes at your high school will go on to play college sports, on average.  Have you received any questionnaires from coaches?  You should have.  Do you know what to do next?  You should.  Am I trying to scare you?  Absolutely.  Am I being cynical?  No.  This is the way recruiting works today.  If you do not get recruited, will that be worse than being warned about it?  Without question.

Don’t be a statistic. This your one and only shot at being recruited.  It will not happen again.

Call me today for a free consultation.  I will answer any question you may have about recruiting and our ability to help you or your child get noticed, evaluated and recruited.  Call me, Alan Parham, today at (800) 354-0072.  Let’s talk.

Or, you could call a cubicle counselor.
