The 5’6″ standout carries a 3.3 GPA. She is undecided about a major. Her junior year was filled with accolades including being named her school’s “Top Medalist” for best scores of the season and winning the 2010 Tournament of Champions 15 & Older and the Black Mountain Intermediate Tournament. In her essay to college coaches, Kelly says, “My goal for the upcoming season is to consistantly shoot scores in the 70’s and move up into a leadership position on my team helping attain our team goal of playing in a third straight Nevada State Golf Championship. I am considering many possible careers as I prepare for college. I plan to work diligently towards my continued improvement academically and athletically and look forward in attaining my college degree and helping lead my college team to a national championship.” Her coach, Kim Dolan, says of Kelly: “Whether the road to achievement is bumpy or smooth, Kelly will patiently work towards these goals. She possesses this determination because she has been raised by a family that nurtures this behavior and provides her with great support in accomplishing her goals. It is an absolute privilege to work with Kelly Horrell. Her work ethic, determination, maturity, and inherent intelligence is what every educator cherishes.” Kelly’s NSR scout is Rocco Pelino, Nevada Area Director.
