Get Scouted Scouting CareersOklahoma QB and former NSR prospect Landry Jones cemented his position as one of the Sooner’s all-time great signal callers on Saturday. Landry took to the air in record fashion in a 43 to 10 mauling of the Colorado Buffaloes in Norman. Throwing for a career-high 453 yards and four touchdowns, Landry’s total was the second-best in school history, behind only Sam Bradford’s 468 against Kansas in his 2008 Heisman Trophy season. Combined with backup Drew Allen’s 35 yards, the Sooners broke the school record for passing set on Bradford’s biggest day.
Through eight games, Landry’s stats put him with the very best in NCAA FBS signal callers. To date he has 227 completions in 338 passing attempts with 21 touchdowns and only five interceptions and a QB rating of 148.00. Landry is averaging 318.4 yards per game and has a 67.2 completion percentage.
Next week the Sooners will travel to College Station, Texas, to take on the Texas A&M Aggies in a Big 12 Conference matchup. Last season at home the Sooners slaughtered the Aggies 65-10 for one of the most lopsided losses in A&M history. The trip to West Texas will be the first in a three-game gaunlet the Sooners must survive to have a reasonable shot at earning a coveted BCS bowl bid. After A&M, OU will play Baylor, which extended the Texas Longhorns‘ miserable year last Saturday, in Waco, and then go to Stillwater to take on tough. in-state rival Oklahoma State in their annual grudge match.
