Get Scouted Scouting CareersCollege prospects love nothing better than wearing sharp, comfortable gear. Same goes for college scouts.
At the recent NSR Video Combine Series held at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, NSR scouts were proudly decked out in their new 3N2 sports gear. From caps to shoes, 3N2 coaching togs made NSR scouts stand out. And people noticed.
National Scouting Report president Rusty Rigney was among the dozen scouts in attendance.
“We have been searching for the right fit for our company and 3N2 not only looks great on our folks, but our partnership with 3N2 creates the consistent brand identity for us that is long overdue,” Rigney said. We are thrilled that all our 200-plus scouts across America will be outfitted in one style by 3N2.”
“Moving forward, we will be spreading the word about 3N2 to high school, club and travel teams everywhere simply by wearing their logo gear in every setting,” Robert Cagle, NSR’s VP of Public Relations and Media explained. Our close partnership with 3N2 in part came about because of NSR’s on-the-ground presence from New England to the West Coast, Florida to Upper Midwest, and everywhere in between. Our scouts will expose and introduce 3N2 clothing firsthand to young athletes, their parents and coaches in gymnasiums, on ball fields, courts and pitches, when we scout, during recruiting seminars and in-home interviews. We will be putting 3N2 in front of lots and lots of people in a very practical and professional way.”
The comfortable clothes designed for coaches and athletes alike are right down National Scouting Report’s ally.
“We scout in every weather condition,” observed NSR’s national baseball co-director Brendan Kennedy. I’m from Maine and these 3N2 outfits will be perfect for me and our scouts in cooler climates.”
Added Birmingham-based NSR licensee Bryan Black, “My scouts have been in 3N2 now for a couple of weeks trying out the quality and comfort in a warmer climate than, say, Brendan and his team. Regardless, I can say without hesitation that our people love this gear. The shoes are perfect for someone on his or her feet all day like we are. And the short-sleeve shirts look and wear really well after a very long day out in the sun or in the gym.”
As for 3N2, the company’s director of sales, Joshua Pollack, was over the top about NSR’s involvement.
“A video showcase is the perfect launching pad for our partnership,” Pollack exclaimed. We were attracted to National Scouting Report from the start. Having worked in softball and baseball since our inception 10 years ago, this is a fitting event to get our partnership off the ground.”
“With National Scouting Report’s extensive network and excellent reputation, we feel that we have the chance to grow even faster in those sports.” Pollack said. At its heart, our partnership is a marketing agreement which will benefit both companies.”
“We have always strived to offer two key things to our customers – better quality products and pricing, and we continually test our gear at every competitive step. Ryan Braun with the Milwaukee Brewers works with us at the professional level in baseball, for instance. Natasha Watley is one of our softball athletes who constantly gives us feedback on our products. Our company president actually has his son’s team wearing 3N2 uniforms in T-ball and they tell us how the clothes feel,” Pollack added with a chuckle.
And what about sports other than softball and baseball?
“We have developed the Rival Athletics brand to encompass all other sports,” said Pollack. National Scouting Report gives us the unique opportunity to make our mark in those sports. This year NSR scouts will put in 20,000 hours at youth sporting events. They will see and evaluate talent from individual games to very large events in every sport out there. We simply could not pass up the chance to be the clothing line for National Scouting Report. It’s a partnership we are very proud of.”
Added Cagle, “In the end for us, it’s always about the kids. We want families to recognize us when we enter a facility. Looking great and the same signals to people that an NSR scout is there.”
