National Scouting Report softball prospect alums, freshman Kelsey Donahue and junior Kara Dickinson are the leading hitters for Florida Tech University after the first 19 games the season. Their NSR scout, Dave Johnson, AD for North Central Florida, tells us that the duo are tearing it up as teammates. Kelsey is hitting .429 in and Kara has a .412 average with four doubles, a triple and 27 total bases. Against Dominican College, Kelsey, from Palm Coast, Fla., led the the Panthers with a 4-for-5 day at the plate. In the season opener, she ended the game by making a spectacular diving catch to rob Northwood’s Erica Yunka of at least a single. Against natonal power Flagler, Kara, from Deland, Fla., led the Panthers with four hits in six at-bats. Florida Tech was selected a 2010-11 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Academic Team turning in a 3.16 team GPA last year. Both Kelsey and Kara major in Business Administration.
