Earnicia Washington

Our Female Athlete of the Day, Earnicia Washington, from Chapel Hill High School in Douglasville, Georgia, recently signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Spillman College (GA).  This 5’7″ guard is a perfect example of the type prep student-athlete NSR is proud to represent to colleges across America.  Holding a 3.6 GPA with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist, Earnicia has earned a load of honors.  She captured the Captain Award following her junior year and was named her team’s Co-Defensive MVP as well.  She was tapped as Player of the Week six times last season and named to the 1st Team All-County squad as well as All-Region.  Her NSR scout, John Arnold, says of her, “Overall, Earnicia is a very solid player that has her best years ahead of her. Her highly-competitive and agressive play is infectious to her teammates. She runs the floor very well and hustles constantly and encourages her teammates to play at the same level of intensity as she plays. She is a leader. She is very coachable and strives to be the type of player that her coach can always depend on to be the best team player she can be and to have the work ethic necessary to allow both her team and herself be successful.  As a student, Earnicia is very good student who understands that her academics must be the first priority. She is totally committed to maintain a great balance between academics and athletics.  Earnicia is a young lady of strong character and a commitment to act in the appropriate manner at all times.”  In speaking to college coaches in her personal essay, Earnicia says, “Basketball gives me the confidence to know that I can do anything that I set my mind to accomplish in my life. I have learned so much from my AAU and high school coach and they have taught me about having good character, which I possess. By being an athlete, I realize that people watch me on and off the court, so I make it my duty to represent myself and others surrounding me in the best way possible. I believe that if I stay on the right track success will come, so I stay focused on my goals of playing collegiate basketball and I continue to work hard in and out of school.”
