Kassidy Childers is the prototypical NSR prospect. The 5’5″ volleyball setter and libero carries a 3.9 GPA who also plays softball and expects to major in Business in college. She is a three-year starter in both volleyball and softball. She hails from Madisonville, Texas where she is a senior at Madisonville High School. Her scouting report was written by former Texas A&M and Houston Texans player Chris Taylor, the NSR licensee for East Texas. In it he says, “Kassidy is a great student-athlete. She is a player you want on your team and she will do whatever it takes to help her team win. She is a great leader and a very hard worker. Kassidy is a team player that motivates the players around her and helps her team be successful. She is a fiery competitor that leaves everything out on the court. Kassidy is able to play multiple positions which makes her a valuable asset to her team. As a setter, you can count on Kassidy to put the ball in the perfect spot for her hitters to get kills. She is strong defensively, using her quickness to get to balls that would be difficult for ordinary players. She has great lateral movement and great anticipation. It’s as if she knows what her opponents are going to do before they do. Kassidy has a very loving and supportive family that love her and want to see her succeed. I am honored to work with Kassidy and her family during this exciting time.” Kassidy talks about her dreams in her essay to college coaches when she says, “Going to college is a definate decision I have made in order to receive my degree in Business/Marketing. Playing volleyball at the collegiate level is my ultimate goal as an athlete. As a two year starting Volleyball DS/Libero and three year starting Softball third basemen, I am a very competitive and a driven athlete. I play club Volleyball year-round with Extreme Volleyball in Huntsville, Texas. Giving my 110%, whether it’s in the classroom, the community or on the court I strive to achieve the very best I can.”
