A 3.9 GPA makes this 5’11” outside hitter and middle blocker a true student-athlete. Shelby Vasconcellos-Mattocks is from Clackamas High in Clackamas, Oregon who ranks 22nd in her class of just over 600 peers. The pre-season honors have rolled in including being selected to compete for the 2012 USA High Performance Volleyball Women’s Junior National A2 “A” Team (highlight video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGWafKZZRd4) and being named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Under Armour High School All-American Watch List in 2012. Her NSR scout, Coach Craig Stanger, says, “Shelby is a true competitor yet shows great leadership and confidence in teammates. She is integral in her team’s success. This is in large part due to her work ethic, coachability and her desire to always improve. She is goal driven. She successfully balances High School Volleyball, Club Volleyball, High School Basketball, Track and Field, and year round strength and conditioning all while maintaining a 3.978 GPA and ranked in the top 5% of her class!” To college coaches Shelby says, “You will never be sorry about having me on your team! I am a very hard worker and dedicated to being the best athlete I can possibly be. I have been a three sport varsity athlete since my freshman year; volleyball, basketball and track.
