CJ Duncan

CJ Duncan has received a boat load of accolades and you can add NSR Athlete of the Day to that long list.  This 6’0″ 185-pound quarterback from St. James School in Montgomery, Alabama, carries a 3.4 GPA and aspires to become an attorney.  About that list of accomplishments, as a junior he received these impressive honors:

  • All-Metro Team
  • All-Region
  • St. James Team MVP
  • National Underclassmen Camp – MVP
  • Blue Chip Academy – QB MVP
  • Rivals.com – QB/WR Camp – MVP

His NSR scout is Coach Robert Cagle who says of CJ, “CJ is exciting to watch!  He may be the top rated dual-threat QB in the state of Alabama!  CJ has incredible arm strength and does a great job of checking down his receivers and making a determination as to whom he will throw the ball.  CJ can throw the ball vertically and he has the touch for soft screens and accuracy for quick routes.  He has great vision on the field and understands when he needs to tuck and run and when he needs to stay in the pocket.  CJ also does a great job of running down hill option plays as well.  He does a great job of reading tackles and ends in order to make the right give, keep or pitch decisions.  He simply is a great athlete.  CJ has great speed and that threat mixed with his passing skills makes him a threat to score each time he touches the ball.”  In his personal essay to college coaches, CJ says, “Playing football at the highest level has always been a dream of mine. Every since I was young football has been a huge part of my family. Saturdays were all about football, from getting up and watching gameday in the mornings, going and playing my games around midday then coming straight home to watch more games, it was all about footbal. This became a tradition in my houselhold, even up to today. My love for this great game that God has given us, has really kept me motivated and passionate about winning. I try to show leadership and work ethic on and off the field. My coaches have named me captain on many occasions and I feel like that leadership that they see will be helpful to whichever program I attend on the next level. I can also bring a very dangerous quarterback to your program. Not only can I beat an opponent with my arm, but I can also use my feet to extend the play when neccessary. There is always room to improve no matter how great you are, which is why I am still working hard on all the little details to become great. Whether that is watching film or working on techniques or lifting in the weight room, I am still working hard.”
