NSR Male AOD: Jonathan Pearce, 2013 QB from Providence High FL

Jonathan Pearce is a 6’2″, 202-pound quarterback from Providence High School in Jacksonville, Florida.  The three-year starter carries a 3.0 GPA.  His head coach, Bobby Raulerson, describes Jonathan this way, “Jonathan can make every throw on the field, including the deep 16-18 yard comeback from the opposite hash.  Jonathan  also has great presence in the huddle, and never seems to get rattled.  He often is the one keeping the coaches calm on the sidelines in pressure filled moments. Of all the areas I have seen him grow, the one in which I think he has developed the most is his mobility and pocket presence/awareness.   Jonathan has become a true dual threat quarterback who can avoid the rush, and keep plays alive with his feet.”  His scout, NSR veteran Dave Johnson says, “He has great touch…in that he throws catchable balls short or long. For such a young man, he also has the ability to throw most balls where only his receivers can make the catch. Footwork is Good.  Decision making excellent. We think this kid has a big upside. Jonathan may still grow an inch or two as his father is tall, which will put him in the box for a quarterback at most all schools.”  In his essay to college coaches, Jonathan says, “My strongest abilities are my leadership on and off the field and I am a closer in a game.  I want to further my education in college and grow as a student and an adult.  Football has taught me many life lessons but one that stands out the most is that it has taught me discipline and how to behave and grow into a young man.”
