Moore has a reputation for pushing defenders into making mistakes.
Senior-to-be Cammie Moore points the way on the court and in the classroom.

Cammie Moore is the embodiment of “the harder you work, the luckier you get.”

Look at this 2017 National Scouting Report prospect’s resume. You can’t help but be struck by its balance.

First-team All-Area in basketball and top 5 percent in her class. First-team All-District and a member of the National Honor Society. MVP of the M.T. Rice Tournament in Waco, Texas, and 4.18 GPA and 32 ACT .

A rising senior at Belton (Texas) High School, Moore is an exceptional student-athlete.

While NSR scouts always encourage the athletes we work with to strive for balance between athletics and academics, seldom have we witnessed someone who has put them together as well as Moore. These things don’t happen by mistake. The 5-foot-6 point guard must work hard at it.

NSR scout Randy Evans, who discovered Moore, predicts a very bright future for her.

“Cammie is one of those special kids that is rarely seen,” Evans said in his NSR scouting report. “She has the skills to play at a very high level along with the passion for the game that will keep her on a path of continued improvement. She is an excellent ball handler with very good quickness. She plays ‘all out’ every time she hits the court. She is dedicated to her game, tracking her workouts, constantly challenging herself to be the best she can be.”

The fact that Moore tracks her workouts offers a glimpse into her personality and preparation. The fortunate college coach that lands her can expect the same intensity when she arrives on campus in the fall of 2017.

“Cammie is never satisfied with her game, always looking for aspects that can be improved,” Evans said. “If she continues on this path, Cammie will be able to play at almost any level. I would highly recommend Cammie to any program that needs a driven, talented guard.”

Belton High School coach Brenda Gomez can’t say enough about Moore’s determination.

“She is definitely somebody on the floor that people have to recognize, but she never uses that as an excuse,” Gomez said. “She’s always going to go 100 percent all the time.”

Moore hopes all that hard work pays off with a college basketball scholarship.

“I have dreamed of playing college ball for as long as I remember, and this is not only a dream but a plan that I aim to accomplish,” Moore wrote in her personal message to college coaches. “I believe it is necessary to not only excel on the court but off the court as well. I am an extremely hard worker, dedicated, and my passion and love for the game shows whenever I play.”
