A high-five to the NCAA Football Championship Series division for continuing to come away with big-time upsets against their larger counterparts in the FBS. The list of unexpected wins grows larger each year and the apple cart may be flipped another time or two before the season ends. So far by our count…UC-Davis over San Jose State, Jacksonville State over Ole Miss, North Dakota State over Kansas, South Dakota over Minnesota, James Madison over Virginia Tech, Gardner-Webb over Akron, and Liberty over Ball State. That’s seven upsets in ’10 compared to five in ’09 and another couple games were scary affairs (See UMass vs Michigan and Montana State vs Washington State), but FBS schools came through to squeak out W’s.
