We are on board with the NFL, NCAA and USA Football as they continue to put tighter restrictions on helmet-to-helmet hits as well as hits to defenseless players. The violence in football draws us to it, certainly, but the speed at which the modern game is played adds an element of danger which is contributing to an alarming increase in concussions and other serious injuries. Something had to be done and we applaud these governing bodies for taking steps to reduce the number of collisions which could potentially render a player permanently impaired. It is our hope that the NCAA will dovetail off this movement to also provide more protection in women’s lacrosse which has seen a spike in head injuries over the past several years. We believe that all student-athletes deserve this same type of attention and protection from injury.
